Intervention Strategy | ViSA Africa
Our Intervention Areas
Our approach combines research, action, and advocacy to create lasting impact
Research and Innovations
Under research and innovations, we engaged with local stakeholder groups to understand their issues and challenges and explore solution pathways and conditions for success together.
Action for Change
Action for Change involves co-transforming research findings into small-scale actions or projects, which are then piloted and monitored with key stakeholder groups. Change progress is also analyzed and documented for scaling up or replication purposes.
Policy Advocacy
We understand and acknowledge the need to come together to reach better and higher impacts through a consistent push for change in national and global policies. It requires spaces for policy alignment, strategic meetings, networking, and careful alliance.
Together, We Create Lasting Change
Every day, working with communities across Africa, ViSA Africa transforms lives through sustainable solutions and community-driven initiatives.
Action-oriented research
Action-oriented research entails the collection and utilization of empirical data to make well-informed decisions. Precise data and carefully designed research are pivotal in understanding ground context, redressing social disparities that impede equitable access to land and resources and fighting climate injustices.
Inclusion and political advocacy
Strengthen community resilience by addressing social injustices and establishing mechanisms and tools to support communities' rights to land and the resources they depend on for their well-being. This also requires promoting political dialogue, preparing strategic communications, and engaging in political advocacy at both national and international levels.
Capacity building and mutual learning
Capacity building and mutual learning by recognising and enhancing existing local knowledge and skills, analysing new skill needs in light of current and future challenges, and collaboratively deciding on strategies and approaches for effective capacity building. Emphasis is placed on solutions that are endogenous and sustainable, with strong potential to multiply benefits.
Stimulating innovations
Aligning progress in agriculture and environmental sciences with the needs on the ground necessitates innovation and proper space to test new transformative ideas and explore opportunities for upscaling.
